Artist Stamps

In 1976 I made my first “Artist Stamps”, while living in Chicago. I started using a 3 color Xerox machine. At the time there were only three in North America, I was also scanning objects and exploring sequential animations. Around the time I made my first artist postage stamps I created the Company I call ”Cow Town Art” and also started placing XO OX on the stamps. I have made over a hundred editions of stamps. One sheet of stamps was created using scanned cigarette butts, when I was quitting smoking. Some of my work was included in Electroworks originated by the George Eastman House Museum of Photography and traveled to the Smithsonian Museum, and other venues. The show featured work of copy machine art. My artist stamps have been featured twice in group shows at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago as well as other museums and galleries throughout the world.
